Frequently asked questions
Are these NEC's official forms?
No. They are written in our own words to do the same job. NEC publishes its own forms, and Clause 60 is not affiliated with or endorsed by NEC.
Do I have to give an email address?
Not for the calculator or the Word templates, which download straight from the page. The Excel workbooks that do arithmetic are sent to a work email so that a corrected version can reach you.
Do they cover the subcontract as well as the main contract?
Yes. The periods differ between the ECC and the ECS, and every tool here asks which one you are on rather than assuming the main contract.
Do they account for the amendments in my contract?
No, and no free tool can. Each one shows the standard periods and lets you type in the period your own contract states, including where a Z clause has changed it.
And when the quotation arrives.
A template gets the clause, the parties and the dates right. It cannot tell you whether the quotation is any good. Clause 60 reads the notification, the quotation, the programme and the records against your contract including its Z clauses, and returns a structured review in about ten minutes. Every finding is cited to its source document and labelled Fact or Inference. It is assistive: you make the call.
