Know what you're signing before you price it.
An NEC contract or subcontract at tender is the standard form plus everything someone has changed: Z-clauses, deletions, rewritten time bars, a payment clause that now waits on someone else. Clause 60 reads the contract you are pricing and gives you back every amendment, rated Red, Amber or Green from your side, each with the words it rests on quoted from the contract.
What comes back
An Excel workbook, so it can go straight into your tender review meeting:
- A risk register of at most 60 rows. Related amendments are grouped into one negotiation point, so the register reads as a list of things to raise, not a clause-by-clause dump. Each row says what changed from the standard form, why it matters to the party pricing it, and what to ask for.
- Every amendment accounted for. A coverage sheet lists each one the contract makes and where it landed, so nothing is silently dropped.
- Quotes checked against the contract. A finding is only reported on words that are actually in the document. Anything the review cannot verify is marked rather than assumed.
- The periods that will bite. Notification, reply and acceptance periods set beside the standard form, and the Contract Data that is missing or left blank.
A first pass, and it says so
This is an assistive first-pass review for your commercial manager or quantity surveyor to check, not a substitute for them. It is deliberately cautious: expect to demote some Reds, because a missed risk costs far more at tender than a second look does. It is not legal advice. During this early phase I check every review myself before it comes back to you.
How it works
| When | What happens |
|---|---|
| You ask | Send the form below. It takes a minute, and only your name and email are required. |
| Same day | I invite you to your own secure project on Clause 60, where you upload the contract documents. Please don't send them by email. |
| One to two working days | The workbook comes back, checked by me, with an offer of a 15-minute call to go through the Reds. |
| If you win it | The review becomes the starting point for the project: your compensation events are reviewed against the contract as amended, not the standard form. |

Your tender documents
A tender is confidential, so it is handled the same way as the compensation events our customers put through Clause 60: uploaded to your own project, isolated from every other organisation at the database, stored in the UK, model inference within the EU, never used to train any AI model, and deleted once your review is delivered.
